Together We Can
Volunteering and serving the people of Sherwood Park for more than 50 years.
Who We Are
The Associated Commercial Travelers (ACT) of Sherwood Park was formed in 1973. As part of a group of ACT Councils in the Edmonton metropolitan region, they have helped take part in fundraising events such as talent shows, telethons, and the famous $100,000 Gold Brick raffle – a mainstay of Klondike Days for many years.
ACT members have contributed to significant impacts, in Edmonton (The ACT Centre in Rundle Park and Camp He Ho Ha) and in Sherwood Park (A Safe Place, Boys and Girls Clubs, Strathcona Food Bank, etc.)
We continue to volunteer our time and work to raise funds to support a variety of organizations that provide services to young people and their families and well as our own, Al Williams scholarship.

What We Do
01.
— We Find & Fund
We look for organizations in our community doing good work and we volunteer our time raise money and donate.
02.
— We Build Networks
We partner with other service clubs in Sherwood Park so we can help each other tackle big projects that have transformative effects on our community.
03.
— We Strengthen
We work to amplify the impact of charitable non-profit organizations. This includes making financial donations, supply drives, and other forms of support that help organizations achieve their goals and expand their reach.
04.
— We Educate
In addition to sharing what we learn about our community and its needs, we fund the Al Williams Scholarship which helps young people pursue the education and training they need to realize their dreams.
05.
— We Provide Care
The Sherwood Park ACT has been in
existence for more than 50 years and we take pride in the stories of hope and
transformation that emerge from our contributions. By working closely with a
diverse range of charitable organizations, we ensure that our support is far-reaching and inclusive.
06.
— We Consult
Our members have decades of experience and know what it takes to successfully build better communities. We are happy to share that experience with anyone who shares this same goal.
Impact Stories
Peter Coutts - Finding A Purpose
Initially, I joined the Sherwood Park ACT to help my wife with her various volunteer efforts. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much and it has given me a renewed purpose for my free time.

Gordon Holm - Being Part of Something Bigger
A good friend of mine first invited me to come to a meeting. I saw that ACT was active in the community and making Sherwood Park a better place to live. I knew I wanted to be a part of that.
